New Moon Mania

OK so I'm sure we're not the first blog to talk about the Twilight Saga but after reading all 4 books (after refusing to become Twilight obsessed) we are officially in New Moon Craze mode! Everything and anyone we see is about New Moon and women around the world are asking the question "Edward or Jacob?". After watching the movie last week, we've decided we're settling for Emmett! The super buff vampire brother of Edward is super gorgeous and down to earth and we like things here that are a little different and little less mainstream.

Sequins Balmainia - How To Wear

Sequins and sparkles are a must-have this party season with backless dresses at the top of the HOT LIST!

Sequins have made a massive comeback to fashion with designers Balmain, Pucci and Balenciaga sending elaborately sequined and sparkly numbers down international runways. Celebrities have also been donning sequined and backless dresses including Audrina Partridge, Model Erin Wasson, Sienna Miller, Lauren Conrad and Kate Hudson.

SO why do we love sequins so much? Well apart from them being a massive trend right now, sequins have an instant magic and seem to add instant glamour to any outfit - it's the glamourous cousin to the LBD.

How to Wear:

Sequins are best left to shine for themselves - they're loud and proud and don't like anything else taking their attention! This is why accessories and bags must be kept to a minimum. The best bag to go for is a clutch as handbags seem to spoil the sequined look. Opt for a small, sleek leather clutch and a few bangles to balance out the sequins.

Hair should be left naturally falling either in a loose ponytail or in a dishevelled bedhead style. This is to avoid looking too "polished", make your outfit look like it came together effortlessly.

The usual Makeup rules apply - heavy on the eyes, light on the lips and vice versa. The Fringed Backless Sequin Dress (above) would look great with clean dewy makeup and red hot lips.

Try out the sequin trend with our affordable picks from GOSH:

A super comfortable stretch sequin dress with a plain back. This dress is nicely slimming and is an instant mood lifter.

And for something a little different - try this cage dress which is all the rage right now! This sequined dress has a lamp shade underlining with a fitted bodist. It is super flattering as it exaggerates the hips which in turn reduce the waist. The lamp shade style also gives the illusion of slimmer, longer legs!
